Airports runways orientations of the Spanish General Interest Transport Network

Runway orientation and position of each of them in case there are 2 or 3 parallel runways. The two possible courses of each runway are indicated (in magnetic degrees rounded to tens) and their position according to said course L (left), R (right) or C (center). The information in this dataset has been collected for the HERMES-GIS. As the transport networks information is useful for mobility, this project data can be considered within the high-value datasets.

Lineage statement

The Spanish Basic Infrastructure of the Spanish General Interest Transport Network (RTIG) includes the following modes of transport: road, rail, ports, airports, inland waterways and modal and intermodal terminals. It has been carried out based on the integration of data from different centers and units belonging to the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility responsibles for each element of information .

Its objective is to integrate in a single data space the General Interest Transport Network (RTIG) information in a complete way.

In general, for the information layers referring to airports: -The different elements geometries come from the SG of Geodesy and Cartography of the National Geographic Institute of Spain, Cartography Area. -The information regarding the parameters associated with the airport network comes from AENA, ENAIRE, the General Directorate of Civil Aviation of MITMA, SENASA and AESA. Specifically, the data about runway orientations come from the AIP provided by ENAIRE.

Purpose The basic infrastructure of the Spanish General Interest Transport Network (RTIG)includes the following means of transport: road, railways, ports, airports, inland waterways, and modal and intermodal terminals. It has been carried out from data integration coming from different centers and units belonging to different organizations at the national level and the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility responsibles for each element of information . Its objective is to integrate the information of the Spanish General Interest Transport Network (RTIG) completely in a single data space to facilitate its consultation.

  1. Solicitud de la información sobre orientaciones a ENAIRE como organismo proveedor de la información.
  2. Unificación y homogeneización de la información recibida para su carga en la base de datos de la plataforma HERMES-GIS.
  3. Publicación de la información a través de servicios cartográficos.
